Insurance Information

I have been approved with Cigna and Optum Healthcare/United Healthcare as an in-network provider effectively immediately. I am expecting approval with BCBS very soon.  I also accept self-pay and your current health insurance provider or employee benefit plan may still reimburse you for a portion of what you pay for professional therapy services. If that is the case, I am happy to provide you with a superbill on a monthly basis. You may also be able to use your FSA or HSA for reimbursement if you have a qualified mental health diagnosis. Please contact your insurance provider to verify how your plan compensates you for psychotherapy services. Please reach out to me if you have questions or concerns.

Benefits of paying for your mental health care privately

Confidentiality and Privacy

Your decision to engage in therapy stays between you and I and you get to decided who you choose to disclose this information to. Session notes are private records so they won’t be available to prying eyes reading about your intimate details that could impact you at a later time in unforeseen ways.

No Labels

You will not be burned with any unnecessary or inaccurate diagnosis on your medical record.

Quality Care and Attention

You will get a therapist that is not overextended professionally. Someone who is refreshed, alert and engaged during your session, remembering details of previous conversations without having to repeat them every week. If you need support between sessions, you will speak directly with me instead of someone you don’t know. Most of all, you will have a therapist that is invested in your process of growth because I have taken the time to do the same for myself. Therapeutic approaches will be customized for you, rather than cookie-cutter approaches found elsewhere.

Self-Determination

You get to work with a therapist who is free to use the best therapeutic approaches to help you meet the goals you have identified. You and I are the only ones involved in the decision about the length of your care. You will not have to be concerned about getting authorization to continue your work or return to therapy if you have new goals you’d like to explore.

I am currently pending with being credentialed with Aetna. I do offer a limited number of sliding scale slots and provide a good faith estimate for the costs of treatment. If you would like to discuss this in further detail, I would be happy to do so.

Many of you who have found yourself on my website need to use your insurance benefits, and I completely understand. I will keep this section updated regularly.

I am happy to help direct you in finding a counselor who is currently credentialed, or you can call your insurance company and ask for a list or request case management services.
